(lat. pop. °paraula, lat. ecclés. parabola "comparaison") 1. реч, говор; 2. дума; приказка; traîner ses paroles провлачам думите си, говоря провлачено; 3. слово, мисъл; parole mémorable забележителна мисъл; 4. обещание, уверение, дума; tenir sa paroleудържам думата си; manquer а sa parole не удържам дадената дума; belles paroles голи обещания; 5. красноречие, език, слово; bien manier la parole имам богат речник, богати изразни средства; 6. дума, слово, право на изказване; avoir la parole имам думата; 7. pl. думи, текст (на песен и др.); 8. loc.adj. sur parole въз основа на устна декларация, уверение, показание. Ќ parole d'Evangile неоспорима истина; parole d'honneur честна дума; paroles verbales празни обещания; en paroles устно; без да е сигурно (обещание и др.); n'avoir qu'une parole държа на думата си; boire les paroles а qqn. слушам въодушевено някого; couper la parole прекъсвам някого; passer la parole а qqn. давам думата на някого; prendre la parole вземам думата; tenir parole изпълнявам обещанията си; la parole est d'argent, mais le silence est d'or думата е сребро, мълчанието е злато.
